FUN PLACES WE HAVE VISITED

Gail and Jim have been very fortunate to visit so many wonderful places and have made

some very special new friends!  We don't have enough room on our web site to share all the

40+ states that we have been to in our consulting and training work (not to mention places out

of the U.S.), but we did want to share a few places that have a special place in our hearts.

 Enjoy your travels!

ALASKA

One of our early business incubator projects was in Fairbanks, where Jim stayed at a beautiful

bed and breakfast from which he could watch the "Northern Lights."  Our SBIR/STTR training

 took us to Anchorage, Alaska  with some of the SBIR Program Managers to teach for a few days;

we then took the train to Denali Park where we enjoyed a Mama Moose and her baby, and later

took a boat out of  Seward from which we saw whales, eagles, puffin birds, and ice glaciers. Visit

the Denali National Park & Preserve (National Park Service) web site for more information.

BERMUDA

We have visited Bermuda many times and have stayed at different places.  All have been nice, but

we would like to recommend the Pompano Beach Resort near Gibbs Lighthouse, in Southampton

Parish.  It offers dramatic ocean views from the main clubhouse and all guest rooms. We

recommend the plan that includes breakfast and dinner, as the food was very good, reasonably

priced, and served in a dining room overlooking the ocean (it includes some outside tables from

which uncouth people like Jim could throw dinner rolls to the fish waiting below).  It is on its own

private road well away from all the noise of traffic, so it offers peace and tranquility. Be sure to

rent a moped so you can see this beautiful country "up close and personal."  Click here for more

info on the Pompano Beach Club.

BEAR LAKE RESERVE

We are very fortunate to have discovered this beautiful place in Western North Carolina.  Bear Lake Reserve is located 1 1/2 hours from Asheville, NC in the mountains.  It is a lake community with boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming and lots of hiking trails. The Lake Club has two swimming pools, hot tub, restaurant, bar, movie theater, fitness center and lounge. BLR also has a Jack Nicklaus golf course and tennis courts.  Check out Bear Lake Reserve website, www.bearlakereserve.com for more information!
